A Colombian criminal case by its 21-digit noticia criminal number, from the Fiscalía General de la Nación: status, stage, the assigned prosecutor’s office, the offences and the non-reserved actions.
POST /co/fiscalia/case/v1 Returns a criminal case by its noticia criminal number.

case_id | The Fiscalía’s internal id for the case. |
restricted | true for a case under Ley 1098 de 2006 (children and adolescents). The Fiscalía does not publish these, so only law and law_code are filled in. |
status, status_code, status_reason | ACTIVO or INACTIVO, its numeric code (1, 4), and why an inactive case was closed, e.g. Archivo por conducta atipica art.79 c.p.p. |
stage, stage_code | The procedural stage, e.g. INDAGACIÓN or INVESTIGACIÓN, and its numeric code. |
law, law_code | The procedural law that applies, e.g. Ley 906, and its numeric code. |
reserved | The Fiscalía’s own reserved marker on the case. |
incident_at, incident_department, incident_municipality | When and where the facts took place. incident_at is ISO 8601 in Colombian time. |
assigned_office | { name, unit, directorate, assigned_date, department, municipality, address, phone, email }: the prosecutor’s office handling the case, its unit and regional directorate, and how to reach it. |
crimes | { name, article, grade, status, flag }[]. name as recorded, e.g. FALSEDAD EN DOCUMENTO PRIVADO. ART. 289 C.P.; article is its Código Penal article (289); grade is e.g. AGRAVADO, or null when none is recorded; status is the offence’s status in the case, e.g. ACTIVO; flag is a SI / NO marker the Fiscalía records on each offence, published as is. |
actions | { action_date, action_type }[]: the case’s non-reserved actions, newest first. |
actions_truncated | true when the Fiscalía publishes only part of a long history; the oldest actions are then missing. |
last_action | { action_type, action_code, occurred_at, recorded_at } for the latest action, with its time of day, or null. |
