# Superintendencia de Seguridad Social

> The dictámenes of Chile's SUSESO: search about 16,100 social security rulings since 1971, and read any one in full with its topics, related dictámenes and files.

The Superintendencia de Seguridad Social (SUSESO) supervises Chile's social security: medical leave and the COMPIN, work accidents and occupational diseases under Ley 16.744 and the mutualidades, family allowance, the compensation funds (CCAF) and their social credit, welfare services, and more. Its dictámenes settle how those rules apply, many in answer to a worker, an employer or an institution. About 16,100 are published, from 1971 to today. Each one here comes with its number and date, who it is addressed to, SUSESO's summary, its topics and descriptors, the legal sources it rests on, the units that issued it, the dictámenes, circulars and provisions SUSESO relates to it, any files it attaches, its full text, and a byte-for-byte copy of its page at SUSESO.

Search by number, year, date, topic or a related dictamen, or with free text that reaches into the summary and the body of every dictamen. Search first, then read one dictamen in full.

## Search the dictámenes

`POST /cl/suseso/dictamenes-search/v1` [Dataset](https://docs.usecroma.com/datasets.md)

One search over every dictamen SUSESO publishes since 1971, filtered by number, year, date, topic or a related dictamen.

| `query` | string | Optional words matched against the number, recipient, summary, topics, descriptors, legal sources and full text, e.g. `licencia médica rechazo` or `crédito social`. Every word must appear. |
| `number` | string | Optional dictamen number as SUSESO publishes it, with its year, e.g. `150250-2026` or `O-01-S-04558-2026`. |
| `year` | integer | Optional year of the dictamen. 0 searches every year. Default `0`. |
| `from_date` | string | Optional: only dictámenes issued on or after this date, `yyyy-mm-dd`. |
| `to_date` | string | Optional: only dictámenes issued on or before this date, `yyyy-mm-dd`. |
| `topic` | string | Optional topic, exactly as it appears in a result's `topics`, e.g. `Licencias médicas` or `Seguro laboral (Ley 16.744)`. |
| `related_to` | string | Optional dictamen `id`, e.g. `758965`: only the dictámenes SUSESO lists as related to it. |
| `page` | integer | 1-based page number. Default `1`. |
| `per_page` | integer | Results per page (1-50). Default `20`. |

Returns `as_of` (how current the data is), the applied filters, `total` and `total_is_exact`, `page`, `per_page`, `total_pages`, `count` and `results[]`, most recent dictamen first. Every result carries `id` (SUSESO's permanent id for the dictamen, e.g. `758965`), `number` (as SUSESO publishes it, e.g. `O-01-S-00582-2025` or `4268-1988`), `title`, `year`, `issued_date`, `recipient` (who it is addressed to), `summary` (SUSESO's summary, which most dictámenes before 2019 lack), `topics`, `descriptors`, `legal_sources`, `departments` (the SUSESO units that issued it), `action`, `criterion` and `validity` (when SUSESO states them), `related_circulars_text` and `related_oficios_text` (the circulars and oficios it agrees with, as written), `other_fields` (any other labelled field), `related_dictamenes` and `related_circulars` (each with its `id`, `title` and `issued_date`), `related_legislation`, `attachments` (each file with its `title`, `name`, `content_type`, `bytes`, `document_url` and `source_document_url`), `official_url` (the dictamen's page at SUSESO), `document_url` (Croma's byte-for-byte copy of that page), `source_document_url` and `document_versions`. Fields SUSESO does not state are null.

> Search results leave out the text. `query` still matches against it, so a phrase from the body finds the dictamen; read the text itself with the SUSESO Dictamen endpoint.

> SUSESO adds to a dictamen's related dictámenes and circulars as new ones appear. Croma reads new dictámenes every day and every dictamen again once a month.

| `dictamen_id` | string | **Required.** The dictamen's `id` from a search result, e.g. `758965`, its `official_url`, or its number, e.g. `O-01-S-00582-2025`. |
| `offset` | integer | First character of the text to return. Pass the previous response's `next_offset` to read on. Default `0`. |
| `limit` | integer | How many characters of the text to return. Almost every dictamen fits in one response. Default `200000`. |

Returns `as_of`, `found`, `dictamen_id` and `dictamen`, which carries everything the search returns plus `content`, a window onto the full text with `text`, `offset`, `total_length`, `has_more` and `next_offset`. > Long dictámenes are read a range at a time: send `offset` and `limit`, then pass the response's `next_offset` back as `offset` until `has_more` is false.
